Project Leader's Responsiblity

  • Communicate with the agency contact to discuss project details and expectations.

  • Conduct a site visit to be familiar with the project location and facilities.

  • Recruit volunteers through: direct mail, e-mail, bulletin postings, word of mouth, etc.

  • Maintain a list of participants with work and home emergency numbers.

  • Organize the project and communicate necessary information to team members.

  • Become informed about the agency and its mission: share knowledge with team members.

  • Obtain necessary equipment--food, first aid, camera, signs, project equipment, supplies.

  • Assume the role of host at the project site, arriving early to welcome team members, noting attendance and taking care of last minute details.

  • Stay until the job responsibilities have been met and cleanup is completed.

  • Recognize Individuals: write "thank you" notes to appropriate agency personnel (contact person, executive director), individual team members, clients, and others as appropriate.
