Gifts-In-Kind Match
Got office or household furniture? Cars, computers or office supplies? Gifts-In-Kind Match is an on-line "gift-matching" service connecting people who have items to give and the organizations who need them. It's fun and easy to use!
After an item has been successfully donated, you may request a letter of receipt from the nonprofit organization. Some organizations may not be approved by the IRS for deductibility, so it's a good idea to ask before you donate.
Claiming a tax deduction? Be sure you're doing the right thing, check out what the IRS has to say. Generally speaking:
- You can deduct your contributions only if you make them to a qualified organization. IRS Publication 526. Volunteers can only claim certain out-of-pocket expenses. IRS Publication 526
- Deductions for property or goods would be the fair market value of the property at the time it is donated. IRS Publication 561 or visit www.irs.gov for forms and more information
You can choose the method(s) of contact and delivery/pick-up. You'll also receive a reminder to remove the item from the site after it has been accepted.
